Rangitikei Environmental Operations Ltd (REO Ltd) was formed in late 2019 to capitalise on funding gained by Nga Puna Rau o Rangitikei. The funding was to fence and plant riparian zones on maori owned whenua in the Rangitikei catchment. Through the funding agreement, capital items were allowed to be purchased giving REO the chance to go into business with a modern fleet of equipment and being debt free.
The equal 25% shareholders of the business are the four iwi of Mokai Patea.

Each iwi Rununga provide a delegate to the REO Ltd Board of Directors. Who oversee the governance of the business.
With the Whenua enhancement project nearing completion REO are transitioning to working on the open market. Through our current staff we have significant knowledge and experience in:-
• Agriculture – Fencing, track building/maintenance, dam building/cleaning
• Construction – Earthmoving, erosion control, drainage, road building/maintenance
• Environmental – Riparian site preparation, planting, spraying,
• Project management and Logistics
We are currently also looking to expand our capabilities with opportunities arising in the Pest control sector
REO Ltd currently have 8 direct staff working towards the milestone requirements of the Whenua Enhancement project. An objective of REO from the outset has been to prioritise the employment of our own. Of the 8 current staff, 6 have direct whakapapa links to iwi of Mokai Patea, with the others having whakapapa links to our close neighbours Ngati Rangi, and Nga Wairiki Ngati Apa.

Rangitikei Environmental Operations is a collective Iwi led business, (Ngati Tamakopiri, Ngati Hauiti, Ngai Te Ohuake, Ngati Whitikaupeka) whereby I will be representing Ngati Tamakopiri.

As a Trustee for Opaea Marae, I am committed to completing the Marae Building Development Project over the next 2 years as the Project Manager.
I am currently working as a Facilitator/Coordinator for the Ministry of Primary Industries, whereby I have created a small group of Māori whenua owned farmers to come together with the same aspirations to get expert advice, achieve these goals and seek more opportunities.
